Monday night we were doing family scripture study, like we do every night... and it wasn't going so well. A few of the kids were participating, but there was way too much energy in the room, and I didn't feel like anyone was hearing anything. After this went on for a while, we called it a day, had family prayer, and I sat back on the couch.
And then the fun began. I watched as my kids began to talk, then somebody got out a football, and they started wrestling around with that, and then the oldest two started demonstrating their swing dance moves. They were laughing and having a ball - and I realized that, despite all of the craziness, these kids really love each other, which in reality, is the essence of what we were trying to teach from the scriptures in the first place.
