As a general rule, you're not going to find anything really Pinterest-worthy on this blog. As much as I admire crafty cute things and creative recipes, for the most part, I just don't have the time. In fact, I don't even get on Pinterest because it kept making me feel bad about all of the things I was not doing, and I decided that that was no good. So if you are following me, I'm sorry.
HOWEVER - every now and then, Greg and I get a crazy idea and run with it. Like this screen he built in our media room a few years ago. I think he can make anything. I love that.
The last few weeks, we have thrown a lot of parties over here: church socials, a lunch with my friends, an after-game party following the high school football game, etc. When you have three teenagers, home gets to be a busy place.
Monday morning, Greg and I were talking about having some friends over for some college football over the weekend. Realizing that our seating situation in that room was limiting the size of the guest list, I said "You know what we should do today? We should build another seating tier in the media room." To my great surprise, he went for it. Hooray!
Greg designed these platforms, and we finished building them around midnight. We tacked down some carpet remnants temporarily (we're recarpeting this room in the spring), and then admired our handiwork. We'll need to pick up another couch or two eventually, so I'll be scouting out some consignment shops, but chairs will work for now.
Not bad for a day's work, huh? Let the movie and football parties begin!
